Today I stood in solidarity with Egyptian-Americans outside of the United Nations. I was overwhelmed by the concoction of emotions in the air. Some people were overcome by anger, some broke out into song, but most of all, people were understandingly anxious about the events in Egypt. I was incredibly impressed by two separate groups in the crowd that comprised of 10-20 young women.  These girls were leading the slogan chants for  hundreds of protestors. Their voices were loudest of all. My favorite sign of the day: “Mubarak, let your people go.”
